Eagles’ Carson Wentz Supposedly ‘prefers’ trade with this team

If Carson Wentz gets what he wants, he will meet with a familiar face.

Although the Wentz draws are moving more slowly than expected, the quarterback’s days in Philadelphia seem to be numbered. As Wentz’s rumors go, two teams have emerged as his most likely landing sites: the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears.

The 28-year-old “prefers” an exchange to the Colts, according to Chris Simms, who was told by “people he trusts” that the Indianapolis situation attracts Wentz.

Simms’ report is certainly not surprising. An exchange with Indy would have allowed Wentz to join coach Frank Reich, who was the Eagles’ offensive coordinator for the 2017 season, Wentz could have won the league MVP if he had stayed healthy. In addition, the Colts have a strong rushed attack and one of the best defenses in football.

Indianapolis was a playoff team in 2020 with a very limited Philip Rivers in the center. If Wentz were able to recapture the magic he had a few years ago, the Colts could become the team to be beaten at AFC South with overall No. 2 choice of 2016 leading the charge.
