Cowboys’ offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore, flirted with the post of chief coach of the state of Boise before agreeing to a new contract to stay in Dallas, but that extension is apparently not keeping others from thinking about hiring Moore.
Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports that the Eagles requested an interview with Moore. It is the first time that Moore’s name comes up with an NFL spot in this hiring cycle.
The Eagles gave Cowboys 513 yards and 37 points in a 37-17 loss in Week 16, so if nothing else, an interview would give them a chance to grab the brain of a division rival who just lit them up. Moore would have to agree to the interview for this to happen and there is no word on whether that will be the case.
Doug Pederson was fired on Monday and that left the Eagles a little behind the other teams in search of a coach. They interviewed Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady and requested interviews with Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles and the Patriots’ internal linebacker coach , Jerod Mayo. There was also news of contact with Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley.
