Each Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC Fighter, ranked from worst to best

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was originally released in December 2018 with a list of 69 recognizable characters from iconic Nintendo and third-party franchises. Since its launch, the platform fighter’s cast has expanded to accommodate 78 characters in total, thanks to Fighter Pass Vol. 1 and vol. 2. But which one Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC newcomers is the best, from a competitive point of view?

Currently, the Fighter Pass packages have added eight fighters to the list, with Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7 the most recent addition. Nintendo also launched Piranha Plant as a standalone DLC character when Smash Ultimate released, which means that once Fighter Pass Vol. 2 is complete, Smash Ultimate will include 12 DLC fighters in total.

O Smash Bros. The cast has grown exponentially since the series debuted in 1999 with 12 characters, and there may still be room for further growth. Nintendo suggested that FinalThe second Fighter Pass from may be the last, but the company is known to surprise fans with unexpected announcements. So far, here are all the DLC fighters that have been added to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, rated from worst to best.

9. Piranha Plant

Piranha Plant was the first DLC character added to the Smash Ultimate but takes the place as the worst of the group. The flower fighter has a plethora of options for pinning his opponents to the edge, especially with his Side Special and Neutral Special that do massive damage and cover a lot of space. All of this ends up not having much impact, because almost none of the Piranha Plant’s movements combine, which forces the character to depend on missed strokes to grab stocks. They are very heavy, so they will outlast most opponents, but their slow speed and extremely predictable recovery almost always kills the Piranha Plant earlier.

8. Banjo and Kazooie

This pair of bears and birds has high impact Smash Attacks and an incredible Side Special that acts as a recovery option and a death move. Banjo and Kazooie’s projectile attacks also allow them to take down their enemies from a distance, but their combo game also leaves a lot to be desired. Most of their attacks don’t connect, which means that Banjo and Kazooie need to gain more interactions to get the same amount of damage that most characters can get with one hit. This weakness is made worse by its lackluster speed.

7. Byleth

Smash Ultimate game director Masahiro Sakurai described Byleth as a “demon in the distance, “which perfectly covers the Fire emblem: three houses protagonist kit. Byleth was stronger than the players expected, with his long-range Smash Attacks and antennas that can kill ridiculously early and break shields easily, but players need to hit the sweet spot in their attacks to ensure these quick knockouts. This can be very difficult for most of the cast because of how slow Byleth is and how few options they have to escape being juggled.

6. Hero

Each Smash Ultimate DLC Fighter, ranked from worst to best hero

The hero of Dragon Quest XI is one of the craziest characters to become Smash Ultimate because of your Down Special. This move brings up a list of four random spells from a list of 21, ranging from turning the Hero into a steel statue to potentially killing his enemies to zero percent. The sword bearer is the Smash equivalent to playing on a slot machine, as players never know which spells they will receive, and this makes Hero inconsistent.

His normal attacks are very slow and he needs to hit them to regenerate his mana and cast his spells. If players are lucky, Hero can easily become the best character in the game, but if not lucky, they can accidentally select the Kamikaze spell and self-destruct.

5. Minecraft Steve

This thug has one of the most exclusive mechanics of all Smash Ultimate, which players can use to make incredible combos and create almost inevitable traps. Steve can mine resources using his Neutral Special on the ground and then build multiple weapons to increase the strength of all his moves. While in the air, his Special Neutral allows him to build blocks that completely invalidate certain recoveries or can lead opponents to ruin if caught by surprise.

While Steve’s kit has infinite potential, playing it at a high level takes a lot of work, as players need to balance resource management, tool building and mastery of complex configurations. This is made even more difficult by the fact that he has the lowest jump height in the game, and his recovery options are quite limited, especially when he has no materials.

4. Sephiroth

O Final Fantasy 7 the villain may have been added to the Smash Ultimate list most recently, but its kit is extremely promising. Sephiroth not only has the longest sword in the game, but he is able to extend his reach far beyond where any other sword fighter can, thanks to his winged shape.

The return mechanics are activated when the fighter is outnumbered and grants him a speed boost, increased damage, super armor in all of his Smash Attacks and a triple jump. Many Smash Ultimate pros I agree that this puts Sephiroth in the top tier of fighters in the game, but his light weight, great damage and slow attacks can bring him down before Winged Form is activated.

3. Min Min

O ARMS character has some of the best varieties in Smash Ultimate, thanks to its two macaroni-like appendages that players can individually control using button A (left arm) and button B (right arm). Its Down Special allows Min Min to switch between three types of arm weapons that have varying range and destructive power.

Min Min’s Smash Ultimate the strength lies in its ability to block opponents with its incredible horizontal range, which can decimate characters with poor recoveries. Its biggest weakness is that small, agile fighters can attack it, but Min Min can exploit the recoveries of many of the Smash Ultimatecast members so efficiently that she won a place near the top.

2. Terry

All Smash Ultimate DLC fighters, ranked from worst to best Terry

Fatal FuryTerry Bogard was the third character in the classic arcade fighting games to be added to the Smash Ultimate, alongside Ken and Ryu from Street Fighter. The blond fighter shares his teammates’ self-facing mechanics that automatically turns him in the direction of his enemy. This means that Terry’s players don’t have to worry about predicting where their opponents will fall.

To top it off, after receiving enough damage to reach 100%, he gains access to two deadly return moves – Power Geyser and Buster Wolf – that do devastating damage and kill very early. These moves can only be used by executing a precise sequence of commands, which can make Terry more difficult to play than most fighters, but he is lethal if dominated.

1. Joker

Each Smash Ultimate DLC Fighter, ranked from worst to best Joker

Joker Persona 5 the protagonist is at the top of the list because of his characteristic ability, Arsene. He has an energy meter that he charges over time, whenever he takes damage or when he uses his Down Special to absorb the damage. When full, he summons Arsene to dramatically increase the power of his already quick attacks. This can be used as a turnaround or snowball mechanic to allow Joker to return to the game if he misses an action or two, or to get away with a game he is already dominating.

Top rated Smash Ultimate the player Leonardo “MKLeo” López Pérez became famous for choosing Joker when he was released and dominated the competitive landscape, which proved that, if pushed to his limit, the character has everything to be the best in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
