Dyson’s latest cordless vacuum cleaner is a cleaning lady’s dream come true

The Dyson V15 Detect launches a laser on the floor to reveal dust and dirt particles.

Dyson has just taken a new turn in its latest flagship stick vac. Announced today, the $ 700 Dyson V15 Detect comes with a typically high price tag. For that price, you get what Dyson claims is the first time in a cordless vacuum cleaner – a laser emitter that illuminates dust particles on the floor.

Dyson claims that this green light highlights dirt directly in front of the V15’s fluffy cleaning head. The company claims that it positioned the laser at a precise angle that allows you to see the dirt that would otherwise be hidden with the naked eye. After vacuuming a specific area, the laser can help you confirm that you have left some dirt behind.

A display on the back of the Dyson V15 shows how many dirt particles the vacuum collects and groups them by size.

Dyson says the V15 Detect is also aimed at calming cleaning obsessed, keeping a record of the dirt it captures in real time. The machine uses a piezoelectric sensor that helps to record the amount and size of the dirt it collects. An LCD on the back of the dustbin displays a particle size division, dividing them into buckets larger than 10 microns, larger than 60 microns, larger than 180 microns and larger than 500 microns.

Dyson aspires big and small

Two other Dyson cordless vacuum cleaners made their debut today. The first is the $ 799 Dyson Outsize which, according to the company, has a trash can that is 150% bigger than previous wireless vacuum cleaners. It also uses a cleaning head 25% wider than the V15. Outsize is based on the previous Vacuum Dyson V11 platform.

The new $ 400 Dyson Omni-Glide is aimed at urban apartment dwellers. This model has a thinner and lighter design and comes with a new “cute omnidirectional cleaning head” that was built to squeeze into tight spaces and corners.

All three vacuum cleaners are available as of today and are sold directly on the Dyson website.
