Dylan Farrow speaks before tonight’s HBO ‘Allen V. Farrow’ – Deadline

Dylan Farrow tweeted a long plea today for understanding and empathy in the hours leading up to tonight’s HBO documentary Allen V. Farrow displays unseen images of it.

In the episode, a long-deleted home video shows 7-year-old Dylan speaking days after an alleged incident involving his father, Woody Allen, occurred. The timestamp indicates the date of August 5, 1992.

“We went to his room and went to the attic,” says the girl, who is busy cutting paper with scissors. “Then he started telling me strange things. Then, secretly, he went to the attic … he went after me and touched my private parts. “

Woody Allen has vigorously denied the accusations for decades and called the docuseries “an ax” in his own responses. He was not charged with any crime in connection with the alleged abuse.

The video camera operator was his mother, Mia Farrow. The tape was never seen publicly, but it would have been given to Dylan by his mother when she came of age. She said in today’s tweet that she kept it hidden in the closet and didn’t watch it under the documentary that appeared.

In today’s tweet, Dylan Farrow admitted that his first public showing is causing “anxiety” and “sleepless nights”. She asked for “empathy, compassion and an open mind and heart”.
