Dutch Fork WR is South Carolina’s main target

Dutch wide receiver Antonio Williams is a priority target for South Carolina Gamecocks.

The 1.8 m and 180 pound prospect of the Dutch Fork High School (Irmo, SC) has no stars and has not yet received a rating from 247Sports. However, it is only a matter of time before he is ranked among the best recruits in the state of South Carolina for the 2022 class.

As a junior, Williams managed 51 passes for 837 yards and eight touchdowns in 10 games. He also averaged 28.3 yards per kickoff return, 23.2 yards per punt return and scored twice as a return man.

Many of these highlights are posted in the video above the story.

A contact believes Williams is a better athlete than Tennessee’s defensive back Bryce Thompson, who played on both sides of the ball for Dutch Fork. Vols are your most recent offerings.

South Carolina offered in November. Southern Cal also entered the mix last month.

Virginia, Oregon, Mississippi, Arizona, Michigan, West Virginia and Missouri offered this month. So far, he has a total of 16.

Williams was one of the first candidates in the 2022 class to hear from Shane Beamer after he was appointed head coach in South Carolina. Erik Kimrey, a former student of Dutch Fork, could help recruit his alma mater for Gamecocks.

Five-star quarterback commitment Gunner Stockton (Tiger, Georgia) will probably spend some time recruiting Williams too, if he hasn’t already.

South Carolina’s offer was sent by his former wide receivers coach Joe Cox, who played at Independence High School (Charlotte, NC) under the command of Dutch Fork coach Tom Knotts. In addition, the former wide receiver from Gamecocks Jason Barnes is Williams’s position coach.

Earlier this month, Williams told Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports that four schools are standing out now.

“South Carolina, Clemson, Ole Miss and USC are some highlights, but I still haven’t received an offer from Clemson or Ole Miss,” said Williams.
