Suzanne Somers is swarming at the age of 74.
THE Three’s Company star and breast cancer survivor spoke openly about her and husband Alan Hamel’s thriving sex life in an appearance on Heather Dubrow’s World podcast, sharing that the couple has sex “three times before noon”.
The author of A new way of aging shared that because she is 74 and her husband is 84, most people would assume that they are slowing down. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.
“At this stage in life, most people think they are over the limit. What time is it, noon? I have had sex with him three times so far,” Somers told Dubrow. “What’s this about 4:30 am that is suddenly like, ‘Oh, there he is.’ I’m like, ‘Could you wait until the sun comes up?’ “
The couple, who have been married since 1977, still have a thriving relationship both sexually and emotionally.
“God, our relationship has always been incredible,” said Somers. “But now that our kids have been raised and it’s just me and Al, and we pay tuition, pay for weddings and help them get started – now it’s just us. Dude, we’re having fun. “
But while Somers is loving life today, it hasn’t always been easy. She says she was fired from Three’s Company for asking for payment equal to that of the men in the ABC programs.
“They wanted to make an example of me so that no other star in their network would have the audacity to ask to be paid proportionately to men,” said Somers. “What was interesting at the time was that no women supported me. None of the organizations. Neither the National Organization for Women, nor Women in Cinema, anything like that. And I think everyone was afraid of their own jobs so they didn’t want to say nothing. “
But Somers took this situation and turned it into something positive. Now she is the author of 27 books and an expert in the field of aging.
“I see every negative thing in life as an opportunity,” said Somers. “When you hit a wall, don’t give up. Turn right or left. There is another direction to follow. Take what your strengths are and reinvent yourself, and that is what I have done over the years.”
This is not the first time that Somers has been extremely outspoken about his ardent sex life. In 2019, she told the Daily Mail that she and Hamel had sex twice a day thanks to a “sexual stimulant”, the PT-141 peptide based on melanocortin, previously reported by Yahoo Life.
“I usually say that I sleep with one of them,” joked Somers at the time. “It is usually the one at 4 o’clock in the morning. But, you know, again around 8 am, I’m in a good mood. “
Somers compared her sex drive to that of a younger person, saying that she is “kind of at that pace, like when you were younger and you are in the mood all the time, and he is also because he is on hormone replacement,” she shared.
Clearly, Somers is feeling well. When she turned 73 in 2019, she celebrated almost by stripping everything.
“Here I am, 73 years old, in my birthday outfit !!!” the actress said while crouching and smiling in the photo.
