Duck hunter wanted in double homicide found dead in lake

A “armed and dangerous” man from Tennessee, who was wanted in connection with the double murder of two fellow duck hunters, was found dead on Saturday.

David Vowell, 70, was found dead at Lake Reelfoot, near the site of the double homicide, according to ABC11.

Chance Black, 26, and Zachery Grooms, 25, were at the lake in rural northwest Tennessee on Monday when Vowell approached them and started arguing, prosecutors told ABC.

It is not clear whether duck hunters had a previous relationship.

Vowell then allegedly opened fire and killed the pair, officials said.

He fled the scene of the shooting on foot, leaving his boat and car behind.

Vowell’s body was found on Saturday afternoon. An autopsy will be performed to determine how he died, reports the local station

On a Twitter post Last week, officials said they were examining the large, swampy remote area near the Missouri and Kentucky borders for the suspected double armed homicide.
