PLANO, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – A driver died after a speeding accident off the Dallas Parkway, northbound, between Park and Parker in Plano, on Monday morning, January 4.
Plano Police said Rowley’s Heather Alayne Hawkins, 33, was exiting the toll booth “at high speed, lost control and hit a tree” around 7:20 am.
Witnesses reported that she was diverting traffic.
The driver was removed from the vehicle by the Fire-Rescue Plan team and rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Speed is a factor in this accident and intoxication is suspected with pending toxicology reports, police said.

The police closed the exit to Parker Road during the investigation and removal of the vehicle.
