Driver is injured when vehicle hits public service pole on Las Positas road in Santa Bárbara | Local News

A driver was injured on Thursday when his vehicle hit a service pole on Las Positas Road in Santa Bárbara, according to the Santa Bárbara Fire Department.

Emergency personnel were dispatched just before 10 am to block 2,900 in Las Positas, where the silver sedan had cut through the southern California Edison pole, adjacent to the municipal golf course, fire engineer Kevin Corbett told Noozhawk.

The driver, a 40-year-old man whose name was not available, suffered minor to moderate injuries and was taken by the AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Details about his condition were not available.

Southern California Edison teams responded to the scene to repair utility lines, and Las Positas was closed between Stanley Drive and McCaw Avenue during repairs.

The energy was communicated to some customers in the area after the accident, which was being investigated by the Santa Barbara Police Department.
