Drew McIntyre does not want Bray Wyatt’s demon involved in a WWE championship program

Even though both are in the Monday Night Raw On the list, WWE champion Drew McIntyre and Bray Wyatt haven’t really crossed paths since the latter was chosen in October. McIntyre was still caught up in a feud with Randy Orton when Wyatt first arrived, and The Fiend (along with Alexa Bliss) took on the feud with “The Viper” since December. McIntyre now finds himself defending his title against Goldberg in Royal Rumble (with The Miz and his Money in the Bank contract still floating in the background), while Wyatt is sparking a comeback from being burned alive in TLC.

McIntyre was recently interviewed by Sportskeeda and was asked about the possibility of a rivalry with Wyatt / The Fiend. “The Scottish Warrior” seemed against the idea – not because of Wyatt, but because of the realism he feels the WWE title deserves.

“Maybe eventually, not now,” said McIntyre. “I’m a WWE champion and I think, in fact I know, how the way I’ve been building the title, is about honor and respect and about wrestling. And there is room in the show for everything, a little bit of everything for everyone, characters It would be boring if everyone were equal and the unique character of The Fiend is so amazing, so out there, but I don’t think it’s something I want to mix with the WWE title, you know that portion of the audience and for me, as a fan, watch and marvel at the show. But when it comes to the WWE championship, I hope it’s a wrestling match. You know, like a man-on-man, fighting for the title with respect and honor. that I am, that’s how I tried to represent the title and that’s how I think I should be represented. Not in a comical or [outlandish] fashion, but a realistic fighting environment. “

Wyatt has seen himself in the world championship photo twice since he introduced his personas Firefly Fun House and Fiend. He beat Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship at the end of 2019 (just after a heavily criticized Hell in a Cell match), lost to Goldberg in three minutes in Saudi Arabia last February, then spent months trying to get away from Braun Strowman last year. He finally succeeded, only for a return from Roman Reigns to win back a week later.
