Drew Barrymore says he never had plastic surgery: ‘I’m a highly addictive person’

Drew Barrymore is giving his opinion on plastic surgery.

Speaking with Ross Mathews on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the actress, 45, opened up about why she didn’t choose to have plastic surgery on her face – although she doesn’t necessarily rule out the possibility in the future.

“I never did anything to my face and I would like to try not to,” said the “Never Been Kissed” actress. “Never say Never.”

“What interests me and what I feel is still relevant to my life is the face. I know myself. I am a highly addictive person. I give an injection, I will look like Jocelyn Wildenstein on Friday,” Barrymore said in reference to socialite known as “Catwoman”. Wildenstein previously denied having undergone any plastic surgery, citing his Swiss heritage for his appearance.

“I think I’m so rebellious that I saw all that pressure and I saw all those women torturing themselves to look certain and I thought, ‘You wretches,'” said Barrymore. “I just never wanted to be afraid of what life would do to me. I probably went to many opposite ends. Now I’m boring, safe and healthy.”

The “50 first date” actress noted the inevitability of aging as a reason to avoid plastic surgery and encourages others to do the same.

“We are going to grow old, things are going to get worse and everything is fine, it’s part of life,” she observes. “I feel more human and more vulnerable every year of my life, but I also know how to value each year more and more.”

In a 2019 interview with Glamor magazine, Barrymore compared the possibility of getting cosmetic surgery to using heroin.

“I have an extremely addictive personality,” said the actress. “I never used heroin and I don’t want to have plastic surgery because I feel that both are very slippery paths.”

“I feel that if I try, I will be dead very soon,” she added.
