Drew Barrymore reveals that she joined a DATING APP while watching Bridgerton

It’s the sensation of Netflix that has proven to be a big hit with its opulent outfits and spicy sex scenes.

And Drew Barrymore proved that he is one of Bridgerton’s biggest fans while talking to Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne, and Rege-Jean Page, the Duke of Hastings, on his show on Friday.

The 45-year-old actress was stunned when interviewing the main actors and even admitted that the ‘brilliant and brilliant’ series inspired her to return to a dating app.

At the end of the interview, Drew and his friend who became co-host Ross Mathews talked about how much they loved the period drama.

Ross thanked Phoebe and Rege-Jean for ‘doing a show that looks so modern … and for really starting our engines again, if you know what I mean.

The cheeky compliment led Drew to admit, ‘It’s true! I went back to a dating app during Bridgerton!

‘I was like’ I’m not dead, I’m not dead! ‘For me, it was a big step. ‘

Phoebe couldn’t contain her surprise at the superfan’s big revelation declaring ‘I love it’, while Rege-Jean joked: ‘I didn’t know it was the best we were going to call, but hit it!’

Speaking about the show in another part of the interview, Drew described Bridgerton as the show that is ‘steamy, shiny and rubbing everyone’s engines’.

Drew is the mother of two daughters; Frankie, six and Olive, eight, with ex-husband Will Kopelman, with whom she parted in 2016.

In September, Drew revealed that he hasn’t had a date since 2015, while talking to Jane Fonda.

She said to the actress: ‘I’m not closed for business. But I have been in exactly that mindset for the past five years, thinking that I just don’t have bandwidth, I don’t know if I’m willing to open [up,] I just can’t seem to fit. ‘

While in another part of his interview with the Bridgerton stars on Friday, Rege-Jean revealed how his family has delivered all the nudity on the show – shamelessly joking that the peach emoji is sometimes used when it appears on the screen.

He said: ‘My family is very well trained at this point, we have a family group on WhatsApp and he has some flashing red light emojis, especially around episode five … the occasional peach emoji.

‘But the British are also very well trained for this in general, I have a cousin who missed those messages and made a bunch of tactical teacups … you go out of the room and put the kettle on.

‘You are not bothered, you just need to make a long cup of tea now, but the problem with this show is that she came back and said,’ you were still going! How many cups of tea do I have to make? “‘

Comes after Phoebe too revealed that she had to skip watching some of the sex scenes during a family screening.

The actress, 25, said she had the remote control firmly attached, ready to advance the intimate moments while watching the series with her mother, Sally, 57.

Phoebe told The Daily Star: ‘She is very proud and excited. I watched the show with the whole family, even the grandparents managed to watch it.

‘I had to sit there and move quickly on high alert with the remote. We almost did it.

Phoebe’s mother, Sally, is best known for her role as Sally Webster on Coronation Street, which she has played since 1986.

She also revealed that she took the same approach when watching Bridgerton with her grandparents while talking to Drew, saying it was a ‘very PG’ version of the show.

Bridgerton debuted on Christmas Day and has remained at the top of Netflix’s most-watched list for the past two weeks, proving to be a huge success.

And the show could probably go from an overnight sensation to an eight-season season, according to the creator of Netflix’s hit.

Chris Van Dusen, the showrunner, said: ‘Being a family of eight children and eight books, I would love to be able to focus and really tell stories and love stories to all the Bridgerton brothers. For each character, for sure. I would love to. ‘
