Dread Templar looks like Tremor with a katana that can be launched

I feel like there are a lot of retro Quake-style first-person shooter games now, and I feel that each of them has a name like Rune Rampage or Demonic Burn or Shotgun Hell. Dread Templar is the last to enter the crowded niche – and damn it if your shotgun and katana don’t make me want to blow up some demons.

While the core of the game is inspired by Quake – screaming demons, a powerful shotgun, key cards, the color brown – there are also special skills with cooldowns that you can use. This includes the stroke and the katana that you see in the video above. There is also a small bullet time, which is triggered every time you kill an enemy.

Dem– I already forgot his name, and I just had to check it out. Dread Templar, sorry, was previously called Hell Hunt, for which a demo was available via Itch. Understandably, it is now offline, although there are some videos that you can watch.

Dread Templar is available for wish list on Steam, and plans to enter early access this fall.

My favorite game with this aesthetic remains Devil Daggers, which is all skulls, but hanging on a rising wave survival structure that makes it feel more like it’s something of its own. Recently, he also received an update for his 5th birthday.
