One of the most anticipated new studio albums of recent times has another obstacle.

Canadian superstar Drake decided to postpone the release of – Certified Lover Boy – for the second time; this time, the delay was due to some personal reasons, including having suffered a severe knee injury and subsequent surgery.

The rapper and singer had originally planned a release in the summer of 2020 and then a release in January 2021, before that latest setback.

‘I was planning to release my album this month, but between surgery and rehab my energy was dedicated to recovery,’ Drake (born Aubrey Drake Graham) shared in a post on his Instagram Story on Wednesday, January 20th.

‘I am blessed to be on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB is not going to fall in January.’

He ended the post by adding, ‘I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021’.

At this point, Drake did not give fans an exact date on when they can expect the release of Certified Love Boy.

Drake, who became the first music artist to exceed 50 billion combined streams on Spotify this month, gave fans a taste of what to expect when he released –Laugh Now Cry Later with Lil Durk – in August last year.

Continuing with his work in the recording studio, all the accumulated momentum came to a sudden stop when Drake injured his knee in late October.

After the surgery, the four-time Grammy winner posted a clip on his Insta-Story showing his leg with a brace and a message referring to the tumultuous year 2020.

“Actually, I want to use this post to send love and motivation to anyone who releases 2020,” he wrote next to the image, which did not include a look at his face.

Showing that he really had a recovery, Drake went to social media last week and gave his 74.6 million Instagram fans and followers an update on his recovery.

’10 weeks after the operation, I am fighting for recovery EVERY DAY, ‘wrote Find Your Love star, 34, in a video of himself doing weight exercises at a gym.

The Toronto native could be seen doing squat exercises on a small exercise bench while holding a considerable amount of weight in his hands in an effort to strengthen his reconstructed right knee.

With over 170 million records sold, Drake is considered one of the best-selling musical artists of his generation and beyond.
