‘Drag Race’ and ‘Real World’ New York Return singing contest set at Paramount + – Deadline

The influence of RuPaul’s Drag Race remains on ViacomCBS. The drag competition format is getting its own singing competition spin-off as part of Paramount +’s reality series and scripted series.

Drag Race producer World of Wonder is doing Queen of the Universe, who will see drag queens from around the world compete to see who the Queen of the Universe is. Expect high heels and high octaves. RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars is also back for another season.

The streamer is also returning to New York with the reality show franchise that kicked off MTV. The Real World Homecoming: New York will see the seven strangers who starred on the 1992 reality show of Mary-Ellis Bunim and Jonathan Murray returning in a new multi-episode docuseries. It will be released on March 4.

Somewhere else, Traffic rules is returning with a new list of Road Warriors. The series ran between 1995 and 2007 for 14 seasons. These strangers will be abandoned in a distant place and stripped of their modern luxuries when embarking on a restricted life in a trailer, traveling from one place to another. They will be guided by a set of clues, odd jobs and cash missions. If they last until the end of the trip, they will leave with the life-changing award.

The challenge: all the stars will see 22 competitors from the original Real world and Traffic rules come back for a second chance. They will compete for a prize of $ 500,000.

The reality show was announced at the Paramount + launch event by Chris McCarthy, president of the MTV Entertainment Group.
