“FOX 11 Special Report” co-host Dr. Drew Pinsky announced on Tuesday that his test was positive for COVID-19.
The famous 62-year-old doctor would have experienced symptoms of the virus since the day after Christmas and hopes to “get well soon”.
Susan Pinsky, Dr. Drew’s wife, provided an Instagram update on her behalf, saying that he contracted the virus and that she, along with her children, was negative. In the post, Susan wore a mask and took a selfie with her husband, while the two held bottles of Hydralyte “for COVID-19”. The post mentioned that Dr. Drew’s fever had subsided and thanked the doctors involved for his “superior care and advice”.
Dr. Drew followed his conditions in an additional Instagram post, thanking those who checked him out.
“COVID is not fun. I don’t recommend it,” said Drew. “I’m kind of in the viral phase, which is when the virus is reproducing and took many good drugs to attack [the virus] early … Man, I’m glad I got it now and not earlier in the course. I am waiting for an antibody infusion, but if that resolves before I receive the infusion, so much the better … “
California health officials announced on Tuesday that they had extended requests to stay home until 2021 due to a steady increase in coronavirus cases during the holiday season.

Dr. Drew is currently undergoing treatment at his home in Southern California and is said to have a full recovery.
