At least 42 people in West Virginia who thought they had received the COVID vaccine at a vaccination event organized by the Boone County Department of Health received an injection of Regeneron, a cocktail of antibodies used to treat the virus, said the Virginia National Guard Western on Thursday. The state Department of Health and Human Services is now trying to reach all affected people. Although the drug is unlikely to endanger your health, officials said they will be monitored and given priority for vaccination. “The moment we were notified of what happened, we acted immediately to correct it and immediately reviewed and strengthened our protocols to improve our distribution process to prevent this from happening again,” said General James Hoyer.
