Dow Jones today, stocks soar amid pandemic stimulus and optimism; Bitcoin reaches $ 50,000

Nasdaq rose 0.4% on the stock exchange today, running slightly ahead of the 0.35% advance of Dow industrialists. The S&P 500 amounted to almost 0.4%.

On the Nasdaq 100, JD.com (JD) took the initial lead, up 4.7% after a regulatory process revealed plans to break up its logistics unit as an independent entity on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Zoom Video (ZM) and based in China Trip.com (TCOM) each rose 4%. Trip.com remained in a buying zone above 37.55 points of purchase on a 12-week cup basis.

Commodity stocks crowded the top of the S&P 500, while markets reacted to the power outages caused by the weather in Texas. Oil stocks held six of the biggest initial gains for the S&P 500.

Automotive transmission component manufacturer BorgWarner (BWA) rose more than 7% after announcing that it would acquire Akasol from Germany in a deal valued at about $ 917 billion. Akasol manufactures high-performance lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and other applications. BorgWarner’s shares were poised for an early breach above 43.32 points of purchase on an 18-week heartbeat basis.

Chips: AMAT Target Hikes, Nvidia Buy Range

Chip stocks were on the move at the start of the negotiations. Applied Materials (AMAT) jumped more than 3% each, leading the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index. Analysts at Stifel, Deustche Bank and B. Riley Securities raised the price targets for applied materials. VanEck Vectors Semiconductor ETF (SMH) was up 1.1%.

IBD Leaderboard Stock Nvidia (NVDA) gained 1% in the first shares. Nvidia ended Friday in a buying range, up from 587.76 buying points on a flat basis. The purchase range extends up to 617.15.

Salesforce leads Dow Jones today, Palantir earnings

Salesforce.com (JPM) and Caterpillar (CAT) followed the Dow Jones today, up about 2% each in the first trades. A senior manager at the company said the company planned to shift its workforce to part-time and full-time work status after the Covid pandemic, reducing its housing costs, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Salesforce shares are rising on the right side of a 14-week consolidation. He reports fourth quarter earnings on February 25.

Palantir Technologies (PLTR) fell more than 9% after reporting a surprise loss in the fourth quarter. Revenue jumped 40%, however, to more than $ 322 million. Management’s revenue guidance for the first quarter and the entire year was above analysts’ targets.

The IBD Leaderboard’s shares eliminated a 30% gain from the January break, issuing a sell signal. But the stock has since stabilized at its 21-day exponential moving average.

Hong Kong Rally, Tokyo; NatGas increases in winter climate

In Washington, Congress signaled its intentions to shift its focus to President Joe Biden’s $ 1.9 billion stimulus effort after the impeachment process against former President Donald Trump ended with the Senate’s acquittal. on Saturday.

European markets struggled with afternoon mixed trade after Hong Kong recovered from a five-day holiday to recover alongside Tokyo’s Nikkei 225. Hong Kong ended with a gain of 1.9%, with the city easing its social distance rules for the first time in three months. West Texas Intermediate crude rose 0.3% to $ 59.63 a barrel. Brent oil futures jumped above $ 64 a barrel. Futures contracts for natural gas rose 5.6%. RBOB gasoline futures rose 4.1%.

Coronavirus Update: Deaths, New Cases Continue to Decline

The decline in new coronavirus cases reported in the U.S. continued, with the seven-day average for new cases reported on Monday dropping to less than 88,000. This marked 35 consecutive days of declines and put the number at the lowest level since 2 November. The seven-day average peaked at 255,258 on Jan. 11, according to the Worldometer.

Deaths begin to decline much later than reported cases. The seven-day average for daily reported deaths peaked at 3,447 on January 26. After 20 consecutive days of decline, deaths dropped to 2,481 on Monday.

About 52.9 million doses, almost 76% of those distributed, were administered. Bitcoin reaches $ 50,000; 500.com Surges in the Bitcoin Business

IBD Leaderboard Stock PayPal Holdings (PYPL) fluctuated almost 3% higher. PayPal’s shares have felt some influence from Bitcoin’s price fluctuations since the beginning of November, when the company launched a cryptocurrency trading service that trades Bitcoin.

PayPal’s stock has been extended after a break in November and a 10-week recovery in January.


Five stocks that shine on rising purchases


IBD 50: General, Southern Copper Rally

Generac Holding (GNRC) was ahead of the initial list of the IBD 50, with an increase of 5.7%. The shares ended Friday with a 39% increase compared to the break in early January. The manufacturer of emergency power generators has gained space in the solar energy market, giving the company a broader stance in energy solutions.

Southern Copper (SCCO) also rose 4.2% and is expected to exit a buying range after a 10-week support recovery.

Dow Jones today: Walmart earnings available

There is no earnings activity at Dow Jones today, with Walmart (WMT) set to deliver the week’s only blue-chip report on Thursday. Home Depot (HD) reports next Tuesday. Salesforce.com bats clear Dow’s December quarter reporting season on Thursday, February 25.

Walmart is on a flat 11-week basis with a standard point of purchase of 153.76. The pattern offers an alternative point of purchase for more aggressive investors at 150.03.

Home Depot built a 24-week base with a standard point of purchase at 293.05 and an initial alternative at 285.87.
