Since January, when we found out that Japanese magazine Famitsu rated Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny 33/40, we have been left without news about the next turn-based tactical RPG. Thanks to the New Game Plus Expo, an online showcase that took place earlier today, we finally have a release date: June 29, 2021.
The trailer above shows the president of Nippon Ichi Software, Sohei Niikawa (dressed in Prinny), detailing the game’s success in Japan and the west – and that he is taking fan opinions into account for Disgaea 7 already.
For the biggest fans of Disgaea, there is even a special “Unrelenting Edition” release of the game, which comes with a digital soundtrack, art book and a physical copy of the game on the Switch. The slightly more sophisticated launch of the “Limited Edition” comes with a larger art book, a physical soundtrack, a set of pins, a fabric poster, a steel book case and a collector’s box, as well as the game.
The relentless edition costs $ 59.99 plus shipping, and the limited edition costs $ 99.99 plus shipping. Both can be pre-ordered on the Disgaea website links. The digital game can be found (and added to your wish list) on the Nintendo eShop.
