Doocy confronts Psaki about Fox News being despised by the presser, asking if it is ‘official administration policy’

Fox News correspondent in the White House, Peter Doocy, confronted press secretary Jen Psaki on Friday about why he was snubbed during President Biden’s first press conference, noting that Fox “was never” on the pre reporter list -approved by Biden.

Biden appeared to choose reporters from a predetermined list on Thursday, and ended up calling 10 reporters. Doocy, who was present to represent Fox News, was not called and noticed a pattern.

“We realize, since the end of the campaign and in the transition and here at the White House, whenever the president has an event where he receives a list of reporters to call, Fox is the only member of the five TV networks that has never been on the list” , said Doocy. “I am just curious as to whether this is an official administration policy.”

Psaki replied that he was receiving a question from Fox News, but Doocy indicated that he was talking specifically about the president’s predetermined list.

Doocy said he was able to ask Biden questions, but only when he shouted after the president “scanned his entire list” of pre-approved reporters.

“The president has been very generous with his time with Fox, I’m just curious about the list he received,” said Doocy. “The only member of the five network pool that is never in it.”

Doocy said Fox has been left out of the list since Biden resumed personal events at the height of the campaign. The other networks that are part of the pool – ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN – are frequently summoned by Biden.

“I’m always happy to have this conversation with you,” said Psaki. “The president answered your questions and I look forward to doing Fox News Sunday this Sunday for the third time in the past few months.”

Psaki never answered why Fox News was dropped from the list of pre-approved reporters.

“I think we have to move on, because we have limited time,” said Psaki.

Doocy told America Reports on Thursday, shortly after leaving the White House, that he had a “folder full” of questions for Biden that he had no chance to ask.

Doocy peppered Psaki with questions about the obstruction and the situation along the southern border before asking about Biden’s list.
