Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell was extremely unhappy with the referee following his team’s 131-123 defeat in overtime for the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.
Mitchell, an eternal MVP candidate this season, scored 33 points, grabbed eight rebounds and conceded six assists in 42 minutes. He hit 12 out of 34 on the field and 5 out of 12 on the free-throw line, and was sent off in overtime after expressing his frustration with the referees.

Utah, as a team, committed 24 fouls, and Philadelphia had 17 fouls. Utah also suffered three technical fouls in the game.
Mitchell told reporters after the game that he felt that Jazz was being “screwed” and cited the “ridiculous f-king” that the team was subjected to.
“First of all, give credit to the 76ers. They played a difficult game. Joel [Embiid] did what he does and, after all, is a good team. We compete. But it is hard. It is difficult to go there and see how we fight and compete, and have a game like that taken from us, “he said, via ESPN.

“Well, I never blame a referee, to blame a referee – I can say I could have done more – but this is getting out of hand,” he continued. “There have been games like this that we won; there have been games like this that we lost. But this whole arbitration thing … We’re nice, we don’t complain, like, no I don’t get frustrated, we fight for things, and the fact that we’re continually getting… screwed, in a way, for that. Do you know? “
“We won this game, in my personal opinion. You know? But, like I said, I’m going to give them credit. They won. Whatever. Cool. But it’s been a consistent thing, and the question is, ‘Can we can support it? “Are we really number one? And yes, the hell we are. And it is getting ridiculous that this is what is happening,” he added.
Mitchell is sure to receive a fine for his comments.

He received reinforcements from Rudy Gobert, who said his team is not receiving the same calls and added that he expects the league to feel “ashamed” when attending the referee.
