Donald Trump discussed the formation of the ‘Patriot Party’ and the elimination of the GOP in recent days, says the report

At the end of his presidential term, Donald Trump discussed the creation of a new independent political party with several close advisers, Wall Street Newspaper reports. He would call it the “Patriot Party”, echoing the names and rhetoric of many of the far-right militant groups across the country that support him. Trump said he hopes to potentially use his own party as a way to continue to exert influence over national politics, even after he leaves office and Washington, DC. It is unclear how much Trump is determined to undertake, and the White House has not confirmed the news. The news of his plans for a new party came after he attacked the Republican leaders who blamed him for the January 6 riot in the Capitol building. On Tuesday, Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said that Trump “provoked” the insurrection.
