Donald Glover and Phoebe Waller-Bridge will star in an Amazon series based on the 2005 action comedy Mr. AND MRS. SMITH.
Francesca Sloane, from Atlanta, will act as showrunner for the series, which will be broadcast exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in 2022. Glover and Waller-Bridge (in a voice role) previously appeared in 2018 Star Wars spin off Only together, with the two sharing a cabin like Lando Calrissian and his android L3-37.
At the BAFTA Awards 2019, Glover paid tribute to Flea bag star, praising the acclaimed British series and talking about how they met:
The 2005 film Mr. AND MRS. SMITH starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as a bored suburban couple who didn’t know they were both hired killers.

New Regency and Wells Street Films by Waller-Bridge will produce the series.
