On Thursday, Dolly Parton asked lawmakers to remove a bill that proposed installing a statue of her on the Tennessee State Capitol grounds.
Tennessee State Representative Jeremy Faison responded to his request and told TMZ that his wishes should be respected.
The 75-year-old country music legend posted a message on Twitter asking her home state to stop the bill, although she is “honored and humiliated” by the gesture.
“I want to thank the Tennessee legislature for considering a bill to erect a statue of me on Capitol Hill. I am honored and humble for its intention, but I asked the leaders of the state legislature to withdraw the bill from any and all consideration,” said her declaration.

In June, an online petition was filed suggesting that a Parton statue should replace those dedicated to Confederate officials.
