The Dodgers are putting the finishing touches on getting all players qualified for arbitration to sign deals. With 7 players left to make deals this week, Los Angeles seems to be getting closer to making them all. The most recent name to appear with his figure is Corey Seager, who signed a new contract for 2021 today.
The deal for Seager is worth $ 13.75 million. This new contract is a considerable leap in his final year of refereeing with the Dodgers, after winning $ 7.6 million in the 2020 season. That number has obviously been reduced by a reduction in the 60-game season.

Healthy for the first time since 2017, Seager put together a season that reminded everyone why the Dodgers were so excited about him in the first place. Seager cut 0.307 / 0.358 / 0.585 and had 28 extra-base hits during 2020. He also drove while putting 2.1 bWAR in the shortened season.

In the postseason, Seager really called. He combined 17 successes between the NLCS and the World Series, taking home MVP honors for both. Seager also smashed 7 homeruns during those 2 series and broke many Dodger franchise records along the way.
Now the hard part comes for the Dodgers, as they will have to work to extend Seager before the season is over. Given that his agent is Scott Boras, there is a possibility that Seager will enter the free agent market before accepting an extension midway through the season. But you can bet Andrew Friedman is working on something in the meantime.
