Walt Disney World Resort has just announced that as of January 1, 2022, Disney’s Magical Express transportation from Orlando International Airport (MCO) will be discontinued.
There will be no FREE replacement option for guests at Disney Resort hotels. Of course, paid options like Uber, Lyft, private car service, etc. or renting your own vehicle will be the options after the end of this year. It is important to note that Disney’s Magical Express will remain intact until the end of 2021.
When Disney Resort hotel reservations open for stays in 2022, we will no longer offer Disney’s Magical Express service for airport transfers, beginning with arrivals on January 1, 2022. We will continue to operate the service for new and existing reservations made at Disney hotels Arrivals resort throughout 2021.
In addition, Disney announced that Extra Magic Hours will also be removed and replaced with Early Theme Park Entry.
We know how much guests enjoy extra time in the park, so at the end of this year, as part of our 50th anniversary celebration, guests at Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels will be able to have more fun with 30 minutes of early entry to ANY theme park, every day. It will be a great way to start your day at Disney, no matter what the day! As a reminder, the Extra Magic Hours benefit was suspended when Walt Disney World Resort reopened last summer, and as we continue to manage the frequency with health and safety in mind, Extra Magic Hours will not return. The new theme park early benefit helps us spread visitation across all four theme parks better, while offering additional flexibility by offering guests extra early time on each vacation day and in the park of their choice . Please note that guests need valid admission and a reservation made through the Disney Park Pass system to enter a theme park.
