A member of the Disney Vacation Club on Facebook confirmed that the situation occurred early this morning, while the vast majority of Disney tourists were certainly still asleep. Several social media users on Twitter also shared details about the BoardWalk Inn flood.

It felt like a crazy night last night at Disney’s BoardWalk.

The post was accompanied by a screenshot of another post that said:

4:07 [a.m.] excitement on the boardwalk [sic: BoardWalk]. A pipe has burst and there is more than two inches of water in some hotel rooms on at least the second floor. I’m not sure if other floors are affected. The damage is relatively serious and most of the rooms with a view of the Boardwalk will be out of service on the second floor. This somehow set off the fire alarms and a crowd is currently gathered in the hall.

Another guest questioned whether the Resort hotel always had leakage problems, even before the tube burst today:

Does the lower floor of the DVC wing on Boardwalk have a water leak problem? Fans across the Screedoor [sic: Screendoor], and Big River has always been moldy.
