Disneyland Offers New Attractions, Shops, and Restaurants at Theme Park – Deadline

Walt Disney Co. unveiled plans on Thursday for renovations and improvements to its Anaheim resort. On the menu are new attractions, shops and restaurants.

The “Disneyland Forward” plan will be implemented within existing 490-acre theme parks. The buildings will focus on existing undeveloped areas of the resort near two Disney hotels west of the theme parks and in a parking lot east of the resort.

The details of the projects regarding the cost and what will be done have not been disclosed. The deadline for submitting the plans to the Anaheim City Council is before 2023, but city officials would be on board with Disneyland updates. No public money will be spent and there are no plans for a third theme park in Anaheim.

Disney officials pointed to areas in their other parks as possible additions to Anaheim, but did not certify any of them. Those mentioned included areas based on Disney films Tangled, Peter Pan and Frozen, all opened next year at Tokyo DisneySea in Japan. The Disneyland area of ​​Shanghai based on the film Zootopia now under construction and the new Toy Story Land and Tron Walt Disney World in Florida are other possibilities.
