Just a day after the city of Los Angeles announced his plan To transition from Dodger Stadium to a COVID-19 mass vaccination site, authorities in Orange County unveiled similar plans for Disneyland. Eart’s happiest placeh will soon become the most vaccinated place on Earth (sorry, those things are inevitable), as Weekly entertainment reports that Disneyland Resort volunteered generously as a Super POD (distribution location) site – probably the least it can do, considering that Disney chose to keep Disneyland open during a pandemic that led to Los Angeles County recently exceeding 12,000 deaths at a post-holiday peak.

According to the county, Disneyland Resort Super POD will be operational sometime this week and will have the ability to vaccinate thousands of Anaheim residents daily. The COVID-19 vaccine has been rolled out in stages across the country, with the elderly, healthcare professionals and frontline staff receiving it first. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 9 million people received the first of the two vaccines on January 11, while only 151,000 people in the U.S. were fully vaccinated (received both doses) on January 8, according to a New York Times report. The Department of Health and Human Services is moving to implement new vaccine guidelines in an effort to streamline the distribution process; these guidelines, which would make people over 65 eligible to start receiving the vaccine, will be announced today.
