Disneyland extends A Touch of Disney gastronomic event due to high demand – Orange County Register

The new food festival coming to Disney California Adventure proved so popular that Disneyland extended the event just hours after fans feverishly bought tickets as soon as they went on sale.

Ticket sales for A Touch of Disney have been extended for another two weeks due to the popularity of the experience, according to Disneyland officials.

Touch of Disney will begin on March 18 at Disney California Adventure and will now run through at least April 19 with additional dates to be added on an ongoing basis. The event – which was originally scheduled to run until April 5 – will take place five days a week, from Thursday to Monday, from noon to 8 pm.

Disney California Adventure and Disneyland closed in March and are unlikely to return to full operation by spring or summer according to state-issued COVID-19 health and safety reopening guidelines.

The new DCA food and beverage event will feature classic Disney foods with a special twist and socially distant Disney characters. The festival menu will include Dole Whips, Monte Cristo Sandwiches and Lobster Nachos.

Tickets for A Touch of Disney went on sale around 9:00 am on Thursday, March 4, and within minutes the site was warning those in the virtual queue about waiting times of more than an hour. At 9:30 am, the virtual queue was paused and Disneyland was “temporarily unable to sell more tickets,” according to the website. Shortly after 10 am, the waiting time was again more than an hour. At 11:30 am, the waiting time was still over an hour for those who had joined the virtual queue at 9:00 am

By 1:30 pm, most March dates for A Touch of Disney were sold out – except for a few weekdays. Most of the dates in April were still available – except for a few weekend days.
