Disney + to air ‘Cinderella’ with Whitney Houston and Brandy – Deadline

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s studded with stars Cinderella starring Brandy in the title role will be available for broadcast on Disney + from midnight on February 12th.

The 1997 reimagination of the beloved fairy tale features a cast loaded with Whoopi Goldberg, Victor Garber, Bernadette Peters and the late Whitney Houston as Fairy Godmother.

Directed by Robert Iscove, Rodgers and Hammerstein Cinderella presented a series of memorable original songs by the duo of renowned composers, including “Impossible”, “Ten Minutes Ago” and “A Lovely Night”. In addition to receiving praise for its diversity of cast and musical numbers, Cinderella received seven Emmy nominations in 1998 and took home the art direction award for a variety or music program award.

Garber, Natalie Desselle Reid, Paolo Montalban, Jason Alexander and Veanne Cox also star in the fairy tale film. Rodgers and Cinderella from Hammerstien was executive produced by Houston, Debra Martin Chase, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Chris Montan produced with Robyn Crawford as an associate producer.
