Disney + Raya and the latest dragon reviews have arrived, here’s what critics are saying about Awkwafina’s new Disney animated film

Disney’s latest box office success is finally here, after a year of few blockbuster movies to enjoy, as Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 59th feature film is gearing up for streaming and big screens. Kelly Marie Tran stars as Raya in Raya and the Last Dragon, an epic adventure and martial arts film featuring a star-studded cast, with characters voiced by Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Benedict Wong and Daniel Dae Kim. Directed by Don Hall (Big Hero 6, Moana) and Carlos López Estrada (Blindspotting), Raya and the Last Dragon follows a lone warrior as she tracks down the legendary last dragon in hopes of restoring the fractured land of Kumandra and its divided people.

Raya and the Last Dragon opens on Friday, March 5, with a limited release in the cinema and Disney + as a Premiere Access title (which means it has an extra cost). Read on to read what critics are saying and to find out if Disney’s newest blockbuster is worth seeing (Spoiler alert: it certainly looks like it).
