Disney Plus adds a huge lineup of movies and star shows, with more on the way

After Disney Plus revealed the complete list of films and programs to come under your Star brand in January, the app was added to the streaming service in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Canada on Tuesday. It is basically content from Disney Television Studios, FX, 20th Century Studios and 20th Television that is best suited for adults, as opposed to content for all ages in the rest of Disney Plus.

United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland are the European countries that will receive Star content.

The company has also added some new parental controls, so that you can prevent your children from entering there.

Along with the list of family films and shows, Star will have some original content (which is available on Hulu and ABC in the US): teen drama Love, Victor, detective Big Sky, animation series Solar Opposites by Justin Roiland and the show Marvel Helstrom.

Also coming are Dopesick, a miniseries starring Michael Keaton and Rosario Dawson, several FX series like The Old Man (with Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow), The Dropout by Kate McKinnon and a new show by the Kardashian Jenners.

The selection will be updated regularly, Disney confirmed in a virtual briefing on February 17. Can You Ever Forgive Me, Danny Boyle’s The Beach, Gone in 60 Seconds and Taken will be added in March, and all seasons of The Golden Girls will arrive at Disney Plus this summer.

In front of Marvel, X-Men: First Class and Logan will be added to the service “within a year,” confirmed Luke Bradley-Jones, general manager of Disney Plus for the European region. Having access to more X-Men films seems more important than ever, given the events in recent episodes of WandaVision.

However, all of this comes at a cost – Disney Plus is experiencing a price increase in these regions. In the UK, it will increase from £ 5.99 to £ 7.99 a month, or £ 59.99 to £ 79.90 a year. Current subscribers will pay the existing price until August 23.
