Disney now has a zero tolerance policy after Gina Carano

Disney is reportedly taking steps to ensure that it never reluctantly takes center stage again for all the wrong reasons.

For those unfamiliar with recent developments, Gina Carano, who stars alongside Pedro Pascal and Carl Weathers, among others, at the mega popular Disney Plus show The Mandalorian, was recently fired by House of Mouse after a series of controversial posts on social media. The 38-year-old actress – a former MMA fighter – drew a legion of fans for her portrayal of retired rebel shock troop Cara Dune, a popularity that would have led the character to line up for her own spinoff.

Giving voice to some very conflicting political views, however, has alienated many people from it, prompting Twitter to ask for its removal from Star Wars Series. That furor ended, however, until the beginning of this month, when Carano seemed to compare the treatment given by the Democratic Party and its supporters to the Republicans to that of Nazi Germany fomenting hatred of Jews during World War II. For Disney, this apparently represented the last straw and they promptly severed all ties to the actress, stating that she was no longer in her job and never will be.

The disaster has attracted a lot of media attention since then and is something the company is clearly eager to avoid in the future. According to prolific insider Daniel Richtman, a zero-tolerance policy has now been adopted internally in an effort to ensure that history does not repeat itself, although it is currently unclear exactly what this initiative involves, as the spill does not provide further details. . After all, going so far as to prohibit your employees from discussing social, political or religious topics on social media or in public is a drastic step to be taken.

Whatever the situation, we will be sure to keep you informed when more information about the Gina Carano the story comes, so stay tuned.
