Disney is on track to defeat Netflix in streaming

Disney + and Hulu are a powerful combination

EMarketer predicts that Disney + streaming revenue in the U.S. will grow from $ 1.94 billion in late 2020 to $ 4.23 billion in 2022, aided by the $ 1 per month price increase that will take effect in March.

Why it might not work

The actual number of subscribers for Disney + only will take a little longer to reach Netflix. EMarketer estimates that by 2024 Netflix will have 182.2 million subscribers in the U.S., with Disney + growing to 123.4 million. Looking ahead, it is easy to see how Disney + can become the leader in the next decade.

But there are factors that can impact these projections. For example, if movie theaters are able to reopen and operate again with a decent list of big-budget films to attract viewers, this would likely affect the demand for streaming content.
