Oh yeah, Cruella is still happening. More than a year since the first image of Emma Stone as Cruella hit the Internet, Disney has released a new trailer for the prequel to the live action story of the dog-hating villain and was first seen in 101 Dalmatians. Diving into Vil’s backstory, Cruella takes place in London’s punk-rock era of the 1970s, as she climbs the haute couture ladder. In one narration, Stone’s husky accent explains that people have been scared of Cruella all their lives. Afraid of being “a psychopath”, she laughs. “How’s the saying going?” it causes. “I am a woman. Hear me roar. “Weirdos and outcasts, put on your uniform: Cruella has bicolor hair, a beauty mark, smoky eyes and dark lips. We are putting on our black Doc Martens while we talk. Cruella, also starring Emma Thompson and Paul Walter Hauser, opens in theaters on May 28. Black and white ads after Labor Day? So chic!
