Disney + Ahsoka is supposed to include Captain Rex

Disney +’s upcoming Ahsoka Tano series may feature the return of a favorite character from Clone Wars and Rebels fans.

There’s a good chance that fans will finally see Captain Rex’s live-action debut at the next Disney + Ahsoka Series.

During a Kessel Run Transmission video, presenter Corey Van Dyke speculated that, among the many screen tests performed during The Mandalorian The second season, one included Temuera Morrison as Rex. According to him, “our sources said that they actually saw the armor [of Captain Rex]. So I think that if that’s the case, there was probably [a] screen test for Rex for the Ahsoka series. Rex would be part of Rebels sequence, so if they’re taking it to the Ahsoka series, it’s in it. “

Morrison was finally cast for Season 2 as Boba Fett, making his official debut live as the famous bounty hunter outside of voice specials. However, given his history as Commander Cody and all the Clone Troopers in the prequel, there is still a chance for Morrison to play Rex. “They didn’t break up with Rex,” Van Dyke continued. “I heard that Lucasfilm is very interested in continuing its history.”

Unlike Cody, who appeared in live-action during Revenge of the Sith, Captain Rex debuted for the first time in The Clone Wars animated film alongside Ahsoka Tano, voiced by Dee Bradley Baker. Although they did not agree at first, Rex and Ahsoka gradually formed a camaraderie and friendship through countless battles, even coming together in The Clone Wars’ end of the series to lead the Siege of Mandalore. Although he initially turned against the ex-Jedi during Order 66, Ahsoka helped to free Rex from his inhibitory chip and restored his individuality. The two then feigned their deaths to escape the newly formed Empire. Later, they met during the events of Star Wars Rebels, whose ending confirmed that Ahsoka and Rex managed to survive after the events of Return of the Jedi.

Ahsoka recently made his live-action debut in The Mandalorian episode “The Jedi”, played by Rosario Dawson. Joining Mando to free a city ruled by an implacable imperial magistrate, Ahsoka defeated the magistrate and demanded that she reveal where Grand Admiral Thrawn was hiding.

Produced by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, Ahsoka Tano star Rosario Dawson and will stream on Disney +. The series has no release date yet.
