Dismissed the petition of fans of ‘Mandalorian’ star Gina Carano for Disney to bring her back to the ‘Star Wars’ franchise

Gina Carano fans are fighting for her to return to the TV series “Star Wars”, “The Mandalorian”.

The actress and former MMA fighter was recently dismissed from her role on the science fiction show because of comments she made on social media. The move marked the last in a series of calls to Disney, whose Disney + streaming service is home to “The Mandalorian”, sacking Carano after she drew criticism for several social media posts, including one in which she compared the division Today’s politics with events in Nazi Germany.

A new Change.org petition started by fans asking Lucasfilm and Disney to give Carano their part of the show and to keep politics out of their artistic decisions in the future.

“I’m not going to say that she was right or wrong with her opinions, but firing celebrities because of their political views has happened very often and, once again, Hollywood has overthrown another conservative,” writes the petitioner. “What she said may have been a little extreme, and I can see why some people may have been offended, but her tweet was not meant to incite violence or to express discrimination or hatred of any kind to any particular group. “

The description continues: “And now, once again, a dear actress has been fired for saying what she thinks. This petition is for Disney executives. Please, why can’t you just leave politics out of the industry and follow in front of?” The Mandalorian ‘is a fantastic show, and the representation of Cara Duna by Gina Carano is a joy to watch. The Mandalorian would not be the same without it. “

At the time of writing, the petition had more than 4,000 of the 5,000 signatures it seeks.

Carano played Cara Dune in seven episodes of “The Mandalorian” in the first two seasons in 2019 and 2020. She was said to be the center of the next “Mandalorian” spin-off “Rangers of the New Republic” on Disney +, but Disney did not announced the casting for the show.

Despite calls to reinstate her, Carano has already changed from “The Mandalorian”. According to Deadline, the actress is hitting Disney and canceling culture by partnering with Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire on a new film project.

“The Daily Wire is helping to fulfill one of my dreams – to develop and produce my own film -,” said the star in a statement. “I screamed and my prayer was answered. I am sending a direct message of hope to everyone who lives in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian crowd. I have just started using my voice, which is now more free than ever, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t allow it. “

“We couldn’t be more excited to work with Gina Carano, an incredible talent abandoned by Disney and Lucasfilm for offending Hollywood’s authoritarian left.
