Do you think the world has enough streaming services? Think again, idiot! Discovery, which owns HGTV, Food Network, TLC and, of course, Shark Week, is entering the streaming war today. We have all the details about this new Discovery + service, including what to expect and where to find it.
Discovery + launched today on virtually every platform you can imagine. Learning from Quibi’s mistakes, he has a functional web edition at launch so you can watch on Windows, Mac and Chrome OS. The service works with many TVs thanks to compatibility with the latest Apple TV, Android TV, Fire TV, Roku and Samsung smart TVs. Hell, you can even access it on multiple Xbox game consoles. And, of course, we have Android and iOS mobile apps that support Airplay and Chromecasting.
The streaming service costs $ 4.99 / month with ads and $ 6.99 if you prefer to pay a little more to remove them. The lineup includes shows from HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Animal Planet and more, along with things made just for Discovery + like a new House Hunters series, a Bobby Flay travel / food program and a new Chip and Joanna series Fixer Gaines High fame.
If you want to check out everything the latest streaming service offers, visit discoveryplus.com or download the app from the Play Store. There is a free one-week trial so you can watch all the good stuff and then cancel test it yourself and see if it’s worth it for you.
