Discovery + is released today and is available on Fire TV, Roku and more

On the mobile, the Discovery + app is available for Android and iOS. And if you have a TV with integrated Chromecast or support for AirPlay, you can use these protocols to stream content from the app. When it comes to consoles, you can download Discovery + on Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S – but not on PS4 and PS5 as mentioned above. Finally, the service is available on the web on Chrome OS, macOS and Windows PCs.

The company also announced a new partnership with Vodafone to make Discovery + available to existing TV and mobile customers in 12 European countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain. As previously announced, Verizon (parent to Engadget) is also running a promotion that offers up to a year of Discovery + free for new and current mobile customers, as well as some Fios customers.

Discovery + will cost $ 5 a month for the entry level. It’s an extra $ 2 every month if you don’t want to see any ads. At launch, you’ll find content from channels like HGTV, Food Network, Animal Planet, TLC and, of course, Discovery. Prices of $ 5 and $ 7 put Discovery + in competition with other specialized services, such as Peacock and Disney +, which can make selling difficult for some people.
