Disco Elysium: The Final Cut for PlayStation has some bugs that need to be investigated

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, an updated version of one of the most acclaimed titles of 2019, hit consoles last week with the game’s release on PlayStation 4 and 5. But fans who were eager to finally try Disco Elysium on the console (including me) I found many bugs, and the developer ZA / UM has not yet released a promised update.

Most bugs are small but annoying, like meticulous controls or lines of voice that don’t fire when they should. (The latter is particularly frustrating, as each line of dialogue must be expressed, which is a further change to The final cut.) But players are also reporting a bigger problem: some important missions cannot be completed. (Last night, I found one of those buggy missions myself.)

On March 31, the day after the game was released, ZA / UM shared what’s in update 1.2, including smoother controls and fixes for “various” narration problems. But the developers have yet to say exactly when the patch will be released, and we don’t know if it will resolve everything that has been reported.

I am liking it Disco Elysium: The Final Cut a lot so far, despite the bugs. But if you’re thinking about putting it on the PlayStation, I recommend waiting until ZA / UM solves the problems before picking it up.
