“I don’t need fame, money or bullshit, you can have it all.”
As we approach the one-year anniversary of the launch of Netflix’s “Tiger King” documentary, the relationship between star Joe Exotic and her husband is showing serious signs of tension.
On Tuesday, Exotic, also known as Joseph Maldonado Passage, summoned her husband Dillon Passage on social media – grouping him with other people he feels have become obsessed with money and fame.
“Money has destroyed my entire family. I will not allow it to kill my soul,” he tweeted. “You won, Dillon, Jeff Duncan, Carole.”
… It’s very sad to be in prison and it still doesn’t mean anything that you can’t even answer a phone. I see where I am. #justiceforjoeexotic #tigerking

Duncan is Passage’s manager, while Carole, of course, is Joe’s nemesis, Carole Baskin – who he was convicted of trying to kill in a murder plot for hire. He is serving 22 years in prison after being found guilty of two counts of rent murder and several violations of Lacey and the Special Act in Danger.
“Come, March 22, for Travis’ birthday, I will keep the promise I made on the day he died,” continued Exotic, referring to her husband Travis Maldonado, who died accidentally with a gunshot. “I don’t need fame, money or bullshit, you can have it all ..”
In a follow-up tweet, he added, “It’s very sad to be in prison and it still doesn’t mean anything that you can’t even answer a phone. I see where I am.” He also used the hashtags #JusticeForJoeExotic and #TigerKing.

Shortly after Joe’s post, Dillon opened his own Instagram page and addressed the situation.
“He and I, like anyone in any relationship, go through its ups and downs. This is magnified by the fact that our relationship is very public and by the fact that one of their only means of communication is social media, ”wrote Passage.
“Unfortunately, it is not the healthiest place to deal with personal matters and it is not how I normally deal with my relationship challenges,” he continued. “Joe is obviously going through a difficult period in prison and I don’t think any of us can blame him for that. I never spoke ill of Joe, through the ups and downs and his good and bad. Through all of that and acknowledging and realize what it is; a man in prison just trying to do his best. “
“The presidential pardon we all expected never came and our hopes were dashed,” he continued, referring to Joe’s calls to Donald Trump. “I continue to support Joe and I want to be there for him. At 25, I also need to make sure that I am healthy, body and mind. I know that although Joe may complain, he wants the best for me as I do for him. I’m sure that he wants me to lead a full life, as you all do for the people you love. “
He went on to say that he didn’t want and still doesn’t “want the spotlight” and is doing his best to “support Joe, live my life and love my dogs”. Passage also reminded his followers: “Be kind to people on social media; you never know the challenges they are dealing with and the difficulties they face. There is always a hidden struggle for all of us.”
Exotic and Passage have been married since December 2017, tying the knot just two months after Maldonado’s death.
