Wonder Woman 1984 hit theaters and HBO Max on Christmas Day, giving a nice Christmas gift to fans trapped at home and a big middle finger for the future of theaters. But many who watched Wonder Woman 1984 it looked like they screwed up too, because, like the desires at the center of the DC Comics sequel, it came with some unpleasant consequences. And as the 1984 Wonder Woman Honest Trailer illustrates, it’s not just about the scary use of a random man as a container for Steve Trevor to fulfill the love and lust she has for Steve Trevor.
1984 Wonder Woman Honest Trailer
I’ll be the first to admit that I really liked it Wonder Woman 1984 after first viewing. But it is certainly a sequence that collapses more and more after you have some time to understand everything. The film is everywhere with its story, the wishes don’t make much logistical sense, and the final battle between Wonder Woman is completely disappointing thanks to the bargain in the Golden Eagle armor and a Jelly Cat from the abyss Cats adaptation. If the armor is going to make Gal Gadot look like Goldar from Powerful Power Rangers Morphin, it could at least be strong, right?
While Wonder Woman 1984 has some redeeming qualities, from being uncompromisingly serious and hopeful to some style inspired by Richard Donner Superman: the movie, at the end of the day it seems like a sequence of a totally different franchise. Besides, does Diana really need to be one of those people who smugly says she doesn’t have a TV? We cannot wait for Wonder Woman 3 where Diana carries a flip phone and has no social media account.
