Did Faith Hill and Tim McGraw list a private island in the Bahamas?

A private island of nearly 20 acres in the Bahamas has just been listed for sale for $ 35 million – and appears to belong to country music stars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.

Called L’île d’Anges, the pleasant retreat was the subject of an Architectural Digest cover profile in 2017. The couple bought the island in 2003, but reportedly only moved to 2012. In history, they admit that transforming the spreading out over a private residence required more work than they thought.

“We decided to build a house,” Hill told the publication. “We had no idea that we had to build everything else. Basically, we had to build a small town. “

This included accommodation for staff, infrastructure for construction teams, water and electricity.

“You can’t put it all together in the beginning,” said McGraw.

Thus, over a decade, the family – including the couple’s three daughters – stayed in yurts by the sea while the permanent home was being built.

“It was like camping,” Hill told AD. “The kids loved it!”

The two yurts are announced on the list, marketed by Knight Frank, who adds that they were “initially built as temporary accommodation”. The AD story further mentions that the house is a collection of eight “pavilions”, which on the list are described as “pods”, all connected by nearly 5,000 square feet of covered porches and walkways.

Knight Frank declined to comment on this story. It is not clear whether the couple still owns the property, but a separate luxury real estate broker in the Bahamas – in a blog post published in 2020 – lists the island as their own. It doesn’t look like the island has been sold in the years since Hill and McGraw bought it.

McGraw and Hill officials did not immediately respond to the Post’s request for comment.

Also known as Goat Cay, L’île d’Anges has more than 1 mile of water frontage. The main house is situated on a high point in the center of the island and is 6,517 square feet. There is a large room to entertain family and guests – and the living room opens onto the pool terrace. The images on the list also show an open kitchen and dining area, private beaches and a pier.

The list adds that there are four bedrooms, five bathrooms and, at the northern end of the island, some 6,000 square feet of secondary accommodation needed to operate the property. They include three employee houses, engineering facilities and mechanical storage.

L’île d’Anges is an 80-minute flight from Miami, according to the list.
