There were no general winners for the Powerball $ 341 million jackpot on Saturday night, but two lucky punters raised $ 2 million each.
The winning numbers were 10, 24, 27, 35 and 53 with the Powerball being 18. There was also a Power Play 2X, multiplying the amount that players could win out of the main jackpot by two.
The jackpot value for Wednesday’s draw has now increased to $ 363 million with a $ 279.2 million cash option.
The Powerball jackpot was last won on September 16, when a ticket purchased at Ballston Spa, New York, earned a prize of $ 94.6 million.
Before that, the jackpot was won on August 12, when a lucky player in Florida hit all five white balls and the Powerball to pocket a massive $ 169 million payout.
Although there were no general winners on Saturday night, there were two winners for the $ 1 million second place prize, with tickets sold in Kentucky and Texas. Both players pocketed $ 2 million for purchasing a Power Play.
Three tickets sold in Florida, North Carolina and Texas yielded $ 1 million each, as they combined the five balls.
22 tickets were sold across the country which corresponded to four of the five white balls and the Power Ball for the third prize of $ 50,000. Four of those ticket holders purchased Power Play, which made their third prize winnings worth $ 100,000.
Just over 500 players won $ 100 by hitting four numbers, and of those winners, 130 won $ 200 using Power Play. In addition, more than 1,300 people won $ 100 by hitting three numbers and the Mega Ball and between 382 they multiplied their prize to $ 200 using Power Play.
Like the Mega Millions lottery, Powerball is played in 45 states, Washington, DC and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
There are nine ways to win a prize, ranging from $ 4 to the jackpot, which increases with each draw that is not won. The overall chances of winning a Powerball lottery prize are 1 in 24.9, but according to the Powerball website, the chances of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.201.338.
A player will win if the numbers on a line on his ticket match the numbers on the balls drawn. Tickets cost $ 2 per game with the option to add Megaplier to a ticket for an additional $ 1 per game.
For the payment, the money earned can come as an annuity, an immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments increasing each payment by five percent, or cash, which is described online as a “one-time payment that equals all money of the jackpot prize. “
