Diablo 2: Resurrected gets an alpha for a player first, then a multiplayer stress test

You can sign up for Diablo 2: Resurrected Alpha now, but Blizzard hasn’t provided much detail on what to expect from this first look at the game. But now, the developers have confirmed to us that there are two alpha tests planned before launch. First, we will have an alpha for a player, then there will be a stress test with a focus on multiplayer.

“We’re going to start with a technical alpha for a player, and then we’ll have a second technical alpha after that, which is kind of a multiplayer and stress test,” lead producer Chris Lena told us in an interview. Both tests, of course, will take place before the release of Diablo 2: Resurrected later this year. “But,” adds Lena, “that’s all we have for details.”

These alphas, of course, will begin to shape the future of Resurrected. Lena says the door is open for things like balance changes to help keep the game vibrant for a modern community – if, in fact, players indicate that they really want this to happen. Either way, this process starts with alphas.

You can sign up for the alpha on the official website.

With the Diablo 4 release date on the way (eventually), there are a lot of potential good things for Diablo fanatics. (And hey, it looks like Immortal might even be good too.)
