Diablo 2: Major Changes of the Risen Revealed

During BlizzConline, Blizzard officially pulled the curtain Diablo II: Risen, after months of rumors. During the online event, developer Vicarious Visions revealed a series of changes that fans can expect from the original game. While the team intends to keep the heart of the original version of Diablo II, these new changes should make the overall experience more enjoyable for both newbies and long-time fans. The biggest changes will come in the form of visuals and sounds in the game, which are getting a substantial update. Players can expect to see new models, dynamic 3D lighting and updated cinematics.

Fortunately, players who want to go back to old skins will have the option to do so. A video showing the two visual options can be found in the embedded Tweet below.

Diablo II: resurrected will be released on PC and consoles, and players will be able to enjoy cross-progression. The game will also include the Lord of Destruction expansion and support for mods on the PC. Last but not least, the next remastering will offer a number of quality improvements over the original game. Players can look forward to updated online options, “a shared stock, an updated user interface and automatic gold collection.” There are also tools to make it easier for players to compare items with those they have equipped.

In short, they look like strong improvements that will improve the game, without compromising the version that fans have come to know and love over the years. Diablo II it has long been considered one of the most beloved dungeon trackers of all time, and its influence continues more than two decades after its initial launch. It remains to be seen whether or not Diablo II: resurrected may correspond to the original, but it certainly looks promising!
