Dez Bryant believes he is a member of the Hall of Fame

If former Dallas Cowboys player Dez Bryant does not play another NFL snap, he believes it is a Hall of Famer. Bryant told TMZ that he believes he will make it to the Hall because “no one set up tank destroyers the way I did.”

He’s right about scoring touchdowns. From 2011 to 2014, Bryant hit 50 received touchdowns. For your career, that number jumps to 75 touchdowns – 77 if you include your punt returns. Its 75 received touchdowns rank 36th of all time among the recipients.

Bryant’s career is not over yet, so it is possible that he will add to that total. Bryant played six games with the Baltimore Ravens in 2020, getting 6 passes for 47 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is currently a free agent and can play with another team. Except for a return to his glory years, however, Bryant may find it difficult to climb the all-time touchdown list.

Dez Bryant is a Hall of Fame?

Where’s Bryant? Probably outside looking inward. Several players with more touchdowns – including Irving Fryar, Andre Rison and Hines Ward – were not included in the Hall of Fame.

Although there is no doubt that Bryant’s peak was incredible, it was quite short. He really only had four seasons in which he achieved elite numbers. Because of this, Bryant ranks 122 on the receiving yard list of all time. Players like Plaxico Burress and Laveranues Coles are at the top of that list. Burress and Coles were good players, but not members of the Hall of Fame.

Bryant may have noticed that. Later, in his conversation with TMZ, he says that if he is not a member of the Hall of Fame, he is at least “close”.

Dez Bryant should make the Cowboys Ring of Honor

Bryant will not be completely excluded when his career is over. He must be a shoo-in to make the Cowboys Ring of Honor. No player – including Michael Irvin – has achieved more touchdowns like Cowboy. With 7,459 receiving yards, Bryant ranks 5th among the Cowboys’ pass catchers.

Bryant could always increase those numbers by signing with the Cowboys for another season. It is unclear whether the team would make the move, as the Cowboys have depth in receiving. Still, it would be fun last season if Bryant decided to join his old team.
