Devon Daniels tears ACL, made for the season :: WRALSportsFan.com

– An MRI scan revealed that NC State senior guard Devon Daniels suffered a crucial anterior ligament (ACL) tear in his left knee in the second half of last night’s victory over Wake Forest.

He will miss the rest of the season.

Daniels leads the team on points (16.5), assists (3.1) and steals (1.7) and is the third team on rebounds (5.1). His 48.1 percent goal percentage is ninth in the ACC and he is also tied at the top of the team with 19 points from three points in the season.

“I’m devastated and heartbroken for Devon,” said NC State coach Kevin Keatts. “Devon joined our program shortly after I was appointed head coach and I quickly appreciated the tenacity and relentlessness he brought to the gym every day. Devon has become one of the main players of the ACC and with this tireless work ethic, I have no doubt that he will attack his rehabilitation and come back even stronger. I hope that all NC State fans will join me in prayer for Devon and a speedy recovery. “
